This school is a selective, co-educational, academic day school committed to excellence in all of its activities in and out of the classroom. The school was established in 1976 and has gained a reputation for being Egypt’s most academic school. The school is dedicated to the principles of a broad education, as shown in its academic curriculum and varied activities programme.

The UK National Curriculum influences the shape and content of the academic curriculum in the Senior School, leading to GCSEs in Year 11. In the Sixth Form, the school runs the IB Diploma programme. Academic standards are high and public examination results are strong.

In 2010, the average points score per student was 34, compared with a world average below 30. At GCSE, 97% achieved grades A*-C, with 60% of grades at A*-A standard.Most IB students will enter top UK or US universities.

Standard Teaching Positions

The successful candidate will  teach a timetable (30 x 40-minute periods per week) throughout the senior
school age range. S/he will also be expected to offer an extra-curricular activity.

The Post

The Mathematics Department is at the heart of the school’s academicprogramme. Currently, there are four full-time teachers. The department iswell established within the school and the wider community and enjoys outstanding academic success: 100% of our students achieved A*-B in Mathematics GCSE for the past five years. Mathematics is taught in ability sets from Year 7 to 11. The majority of our students stay on to complete IB courses in mathematics, where again academic success is a feature (we usually are about 10% above the world average in the three IB mathematics courses taught in the department).
