The Blue House Nursery in Singapore is a small school offering half day and full day programmes for children aged 18 months to 5 and half years old. The school was opened in February 2008 and caters for expatriate and local children.
We are looking to recruit an 'Early Childhood Educator' who has a strong knowledge and background of working in a Reggio Emilia Inspired school and a good understanding and belief in the emergent curriculum.
Qualifications are important to us, but we also strongly value a great working knowledge so a degree in early childhood education or a diploma with at least 3-5 years working in the relevant field will also be considered.
You will maintain the philosophy of our school by working with the rest of the small team, to be involved in programming and planning through regular team meetings.
You will be working as a team of two, teaching a small group of 12 children and must be flexible and knowledgeable to work with all age groups
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30-5pm. There will be approximately 8 weeks of paid holiday per year, plus return air fares paid and full medical coverage.
It is important that you not only can do your job but have a love of travel and a desire to work in Asia. Singapore is a great place to live and is a perfect gateway for travel and adventure. You must be happy to work with a multi cultural team of people and be considerate and open to children/parents and staff from other backgrounds and all that can entail.
Ideally we would like for someone to join us early in September 2010, but we could wait for the ideal candidate for later start.
